Sportsmanship Summit

On Tuesday, November 20, the Nebraska Schools Activities Association hosted their annual Sportsmanship Summit at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.  Attending and representing Heartland Community School were Larry Vancura, Erik Wetjen, Carrie Regier, Jerri Janzen, Jamison Hollstein, MacKenzie Dick, Hannah Epp, and Michelle Barr.  

Sessions that the Heartland contingent attended included "First Steps to Great Teams" and the "Role of Parents in Athletics" by Bruce Brown, "Sportsmanship is On and Off the Field of Play" by Aaron Davis, and "Be the Best" by Harvey Alston.  Nearly 1500 athletic directors, coaches, parents, media, and students representing Nebraska high schools attended the summit.
